Wait! There's one more hotel opening this month.

Pasadena, a city well-known for its New Year’s Day Rose Parade as well as its historic bungalow residences, is actually building quite a cool hotel scene, with several new hotels set to open in the next few years.

Kicking it off is the DusitD2 Constance Pasadena, opening on September 8 with a bright contemporary design (and a bright outlook for Pasadena as a SoCal destination.)

This will be the U.S. debut for DusitD2, the cutting edge brand of luxury operator Dusit International, whose hotels are mostly located in Asia and the Middle East. The DusitD2 concept caters to a youthful, tech-savvy crowd, used to social interaction and constant virtual connection, as well as generating their own entertainment. Yes, this is yet another hotel brand for Millennials.

The DusitD2 Constance Pasadena takes its name from Constance V. Perry, a local businesswoman who built the hotel back in 1926 as a resort destination for weary-of-winter Easterners. The landmark building on Colorado Boulevard was most recently a retirement home and has now reverted back to its original use. From the inside however, it will look nothing like a hotel of the 1920s, rather it is a vibrant, sleek aesthetic created by Hong Kong based interior designer Joey Ho.

The hotel is reportedly being developed in phases, opening with 136 rooms including 12 suites, bar and lounges, and indoor and outdoor dining. Additional rooms, a fitness center, some meeting space, and street level retail are slated for completion over the next couple of years.

Guest room amenities feature iPad room environmental controls and virtual concierge, an HDTV Smart TV for all your favorite streaming, a Keurig coffee maker, and free WiFi.

Here’s a tour of the Constance like you've never seen her before.

Rates from $205, with opening special rate of $175, and "love thy neighbor" rate of $150, for the locals.
