If your list of Dublin hotel room requirements includes things like duplex, roof terrace, and private cedar wood hot tub, the just refreshed Penthouse at The Merrion brings all of those things together. Sixteen years after it was first opened, the hotel has redone the two-floor space, which includes the above master bedroom. Between the furniture (desk chair, sofa), drapes, and colours, it strikes a rather feminine tone to us; more images of the rest of the suite below.

The open plan living and dining room on the other hand has a touch of Firmdale to it, and has access to a full kitchen for either cooking up something yourself or having that done for you in the comfort of your own suite. The suite has an upside-down configuration where the two bedrooms (one with king bed, one with twin beds) are on the lower floor and living spaces are upstairs. The Penthouse has its own Music Room, which sounds very Downton Abbey. Lord Grantham would approve.

Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, with this groovy copper tub in the master bathroom. A third bathroom is thrown in for guests. Free WiFi and all the other amenities you’d expect are there too.

Weighing in at 2,200 square feet, we can see The Penthouse for about £2,500 ($4,100) a night during the fall.
