Enjoy vodka IN the rocks amid 20 tons of ice art that make up the Ice Kube Bar, reputed to be the first and only ice bar in the French capital.

Welcome to Funky Friday, a new segment we’re trying out which features one photo that we think singularly expresses a hotel’s inner psyche. We look for, and often find, a lot of wacky, wild and wondrous designs that seem to have one thing in common: a Type A personality. So why not have a bit of fun as we all wrap up our week by taking a quick look at some hotels that quite frankly, want our attention.

Ice hotels come and go and they don’t come cheap as we have seen in the ICEHOTEL design suites. Well, put your plastic away because for a mere €25 (for three drinks) you can chill out in Paris—yes Paris-- at the Kube Hotel's seriously cool Ice Kube Bar. Whether or not you took the ice bucket challenge, and we commend you if you did, a visit to the Ice Kube Bar is a must see when in Paris.

The Kube Paris is one of two Kube Hotels (the other in St. Tropez) and is a member of the boutique design group Murano Hotels & Resorts.

A team of world champion ice sculptors at Crystal Group create a new theme each year, the current design shown in the picture above. Color infusions and specially curated sounds add to the experience. Brace yourselves, the temperature inside the bar is kept at -10 degrees Celsius (that's 14 degrees Fahrenheit) and there is a 25-minute session limit inside the bar. That's understandable given the temperature, however, three cocktails in 25 minutes might be pushing it.

The bar is open Wednesday to Saturday 7:30pm - 2:00 am, last admission at 1:30 am. There is a 25 person limit, so dress warm and bring all your best friends. And if they happen to live in Paris, they should be your best friends.
