A bustling railroad yard with origins dating to before the Civil War, The Gulch fell in to neglect and blight following World War II until the urban revitalization initiative led by the Turner family took hold in the early 2000’s. Today, The Gulch is a vibrant urban district and a popular local destination for shopping, dining and entertainment due to of the firm’s concentrated focus on the development of a single neighborhood.
What's also cool about The Gulch is that it's an LEED certified community. So we expect the Thompson so to be very green as well. Hear that, Virgin?
All in all, Nashville is poised to get a happening hotel scene with Thompson, Virgin and also, 21C Museum Hotels coming soon. Music City, here we come!

The Buckingham Midtown development is LEED-designed and will include the hotel, a restaurant and bar, 35,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, 350 upscale apartments and 630 parking spaces. The hotel is anticipated to open in late 2016.
