First Renderings of the Conrad 'Un-Trump' Fort Lauderdale, Opening Next Summer

We told you earlier this year that the saga of the ill-fated Trump Fort Lauderdale would have a happy ending by summer 2015, opening as the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Beach Residences. A $30 million-plus investment would erase any signs of half a decade of vacancy and neglect, the result of which we can show you a few renderings of now.
Above the driveway and entrance to the 290-room hotel, with an interesting lattice wood-like sculpture above what looks like a water feature. All accommodations are either studios or suites and come with full kitchenettes.
Once through the door, this is the lobby lounge that will greet you. Bar Lulus will serve cocktails and craft beers, while poolside there is bar and grill Bungalows.
Ceilings with whimsy seem to be a common thread in the design; from the sculpture over the driveway and collection of vintage lamps in the lobby to this wave of scales in Mediterranean restaurant Brezza. The blue of the sea outside the window contrasts with the green of the living wall on the left.
Guestroom images are missing at this point, but we expect a similar breezy indoor-outdoor living feel. As we get closer to reservations opening, we’ll talk rates too.
