Boston is Going to Get Another Four Seasons

Watch your back, 90210.

According to a just-released report from CityLab, Boston zip code 02199 — which reflects the city’s tony Back Bay neighborhood — is among the 10 Most Expensive Zip Codes in America. With median home values of $3.3 million, the Back Bay is #5 — not far behind Lisa, Kyle, and Brandi’s champagne-soaked stomping grounds ($3.5 million). And if that surprises you, it’s only because wealthy Bostonians are perfectly content to bankroll hospitals and universities instead of launching flavored vodka lines or publicizing-slash-embarrassing themselves on TV. Point is, perhaps it’s no surprise that a new Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts in the Back Bay will make Boston one of only a few international cities with multiple properties from the brand.

It was recently announced that a new Hub location will be part of a $700 million project planned for the Christian Science Plaza at 1 Dalton Street: A 60-story luxury condo building that will become the city’s tallest residential building — and, at an anticipated 699 feet, Boston’s third tallest building overall.

The triangle-shaped building is expected to house 211 hotel rooms on the first 20 floors and 180 high-end condos on the upper 40 stories. According to The Boston Globe, the tower will “include two restaurants, two lounges, and a health club and spa” in addition to residences that are “certain to be among the most expensive in the city.”

Construction is expected to start by the end of the 2014 and wrap in 2017. Your move, Beverly Hills.
