We love the fun and retro quotient of the Aloft brand which will fit in perfectly in the Arkana portion of the building. And of course, we'd book it simply because of the free WiFi. But we're skeptical of how affordable the prices will actually be since we've found Alofts in big cities go for well over $200 a night.
True, the rates will be cheaper than the W South Beach, which is two blocks away, and cheaper than the upcoming 1 Hotel South Beach, which is located across the street. But we just don't expect it to be all that affordable. At least not in season.
Already, Aloft has two other Miami-area hotels open--one in Doral and one in Lower Brickell, where we found rates for next weekend for just $125 a night. Gotta love the off season for that.
