Views of the Manhattan skyline from the new rooftop lounge, Sheltering Sky, are truly incredible - and your hair style remains relatively intact

Only a couple months into the launch of Chelsea Hotels, a family of five New York hotels, things are moving along swimmingly for the Brooklyn resident, McCarren Hotel & Pool (formerly Hotel Williamsburg.) The hotel wraps up its latest renovations and unwraps a new lobby, revamped rooftop lounge, and plenty of outdoor summer fun.

Chelsea Hotels, the new and improved version of King & Grove, is committed to creating environments that inspire community involvement, enliven the spirit, and encourage interaction. And there's nothing like a great big pool and a hot, new rooftop lounge to get that going.

The lobby's new look, conceived by local interior designer Fernando Santangelo, captures the energy and artistic vibe of the Williamsburg neighborhood. Simple modern furnishings "interact" nicely with lively patterns and materials, against a backdrop of jungle-like wall graphics.

If a hotel’s official name has “pool” in it, it must be something special. McCarren’s 3-season, saltwater pool is reportedly one of the largest outdoor pools in New York City (sorry, no diving.) The surrounding pool deck can accommodate all your BFFs, so get your pool passes now.

There are 64 guest rooms, each with flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, Frette linens, toiletries by Malen & Goetz, rainshower, and a “generously stocked mini bar.”

There's a great new rooftop lounge, Sheltering Sky, featuring comfy built-in seating to enjoy your favorite drinks and Michelin-starred snacks, live music, and spectacular (wind protected) views of Manhattan. The concept of the lounge was created by Nur Khan, master of the night life experience (he was also behind the Rose Bar during the heydays of the Gramercy Park Hotel in 2006) and now a hotel partner.

Now, here is a tour of the hotel's new feature spaces, inside and out:

A great feature of the new lobby is this mid-century inspired sofa, with the very cool lighting on top

It's a jungle out there - and inside the hotel lobby. This electrifying wall mural really gives the space its unique artsy flavor, almost like a form of graffiti

Stripes and solids define the bar, with a little help from some animals that you would not likely see on the streets of Brooklyn

A great looking outdoor space geared towards interaction, comfort, and cocktails. Sold.

A very clever design feature of the pool deck is the bleacher style lounge seating - everyone can see all of the action.

Summer rates from $240/midweek, $390/weekends
