VANDERBILT GRACE: This historic mansion turned luxe boutique hotel in Newport, RI, has amazing views of Newport's 4th of July fireworks from the hotel roof deck. The hotel will also celebrate before the fireworks with an Independence Day BBQ from 4:30 to 9:30pm for $65 a person. Regular rooms are sold-out but a junior suite is still available at $690 for July 3 and $775 for July 4.
GRAND GENEVA RESORT AND SPA: The Wisconsin resort's Embers Terrace will be hosting a Dinner Event with reserved seating from 5-10 p.m., which includes the fireworks show at Lake Geneva and a premium dinner buffet and bar. The resort will also host a Grand Picnic earlier in the day as well as a Prime Rib Dinner Buffet from 5 to 10pm, followed by live entertainment in the lobby lounge. Room rates start at $529 a night this weekend.
HILTON CHICAGO: The hotel's 720 South Bar & Grill, a classic American grill, will be open for dinner while the outdoor sun deck will give off great views of the city skyline. You can even catch the fireworks from your hotel window. If it gets too hot during the weekend, cool off in the hotel's indoor pool. Room rates start at $179 a night this weekend but the Lakeview rooms start at $219 a night.
SURF AND SAND LAGUNA BEACH: The hotel is sold-out for the weekend but the BBQ at their pool deck is open to everyone. On offer will be burgers, hot dogs and fish tacos made to order and tray passed bites, along with patriotic refreshments and drink specials. Plus, folks can stay to see the Orange County fireworks that will go off nearby. The BBQ is from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and the cost is dependent upon your order. Live music will happen at the hotel form 3-5pm.
HOTEL DEL CORONADO: The historic hotel on Coronado Island in San Diego, which has hosted several U.S. Presidents and First Ladies, is actually having a party tonight for guests, two days before the 4th. There will be a live band, recreational activities, games for the kids, all culminating in a private fireworks show. (Coronado Island will have their own parade and fireworks show on the 4th proper.) The resort is sold-out but the restaurants are open to all.
