There will be two pools, with swim-up bars and cabanas, and 11 restaurants and bars, including a beach club, sports bar, and a rooftop lounge. Oh, and then there’s Sublimotion, brought to you by double Michelin-starred chef, Paco Rancero. You may have heard of this place. It’s the one that takes just 12 covers a night and charges them charges €1500 ($2041, or £1235) for a 20-course meal, making it the most expensive restaurant in the world. For that, it offers a “culinary journey of the senses”. You know, to add to all those other sensory journeys most Ibiza vacationers are doing down the club several times a night.
To be fair, the rooms do look spectacular, with understated decor and subdued hardwood floors leaving the focus on the floor-to-ceiling windows.
A quick glance at their Youtube offering reveals their target audience – unsurprisingly, we’re talking tattooed bros and buxom ladies who love foam parties so much, they’re doing them in the bathtub. Also, the rendering of the Beach Club features a woman in a thong bikini and a man in speedos. Now that’s hard to get over.
Basically, you already know if you want to stay (btw, there’s a bar called Under the Influence and a snack bar called Munchies). If you do, rooms are available from June 14 (the day after the official opening), and start at €436 ($593/£354). By October, they drop to a mere €168 ($171/£102). There are no rates from November through May 2015, so we assume the hotel will close for the season.
By the way, London, Barcelona and Munich are next on the Hard Rock Europe list, according to the company. Take cover.
