If that triathlon preparation is making you want to punch something, or you’ve done your swim-cycle-run madness and still have some energy left, perhaps a round of kick-boxing may appeal?

Rather than a sweaty back alley gym, Four Seasons Hotels brings a more pleasant option with the installation of a Muay Thai boxing ring – with sea views – in its resort on Koh Samui. It’s best not to let yourself be distracted by the views though, as the hotel can pair you up with a resident muay thai champ to train you in the “art of eight limbs”, using fists, feet, shins, knees, and elbows.

Naturally, after such exertion you’ll need to recover, which you can do with a specially designed spa treatment. You’ll get some high-protein snacks before a Thai herbal steam of ginger, lemongrass, kaffir lime, plai, camphor, and turmeric, followed by a leg massage in cool water, stretching of the legs and arms, and a full-body massage to wrap things up.

If doing as little as possible on a Thai island is more your thing, that’s of course an option. Aside from the beach-side pool, each Villa comes with its own private infinity-edge pool as well. Rates for a One-Bedroom Villa start at THB23,500 (about $715) a night on a weekend later in June, with a $100 credit if you stay two nights or more.
