Having closed just before Christmas last year, The Lanesborough London has been hiding under scaffolding and protective wrapping for its extensive renovations.

At the time of closure – and based on a sign that was displayed on its front door until not too long ago – we had hoped for a return just before the 2014 festive season. But the first delay is already in the bag: the hotel’s website now talks about reopening on March 31, 2015.

With nearby Park Tower having worked on its rooms and public spaces, the Sheraton Park Lane prepping for renovations, and The Lanesborough reopening with a new look, Starwood’s trio of hotels in Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner, and Mayfair will have all had a refresh by summer next year.

Reservations aren’t possible yet for April 2015, but we’d guess rates at The Lanesborough to start at £400 ($670) and up once it’s open.
