Two New Stonehill & Taylor-Designed Hotels are Coming to Midtown

April 8, 2014 at 3:10 PM | by | ()

We are fans of architectural team Stonehill & Taylor's work on (to name just a few) The NoMad Hotel and Refinery Hotel, so we are pleased to see that, in a landscape of bland hotel development projects, they will be bringing their touch to two new Midtown Manhattan hotels.

First up is a 25-story, 250-room Crowne Plaza at 320 West 36th Street (pictured above) -- around the corner from the current Tryp by Wyndham Times Square South and future Even Hotel. This one is scheduled to open in late 2015.

After that, The Real Deal reports that a 21-story, 240-room hotel will be coming to 432 West 31st Street in the Hudson Yards area and a principal at S&T is listed as the architect of record. No word on an expected opening date, though.

Here's to hoping more interesting firms continue to challenge Kaufman/Peter Poon dominance in the area.
