Here's a Sneak Peek of The Delano Las Vegas, Opening on September 1

It's been a long time coming but the Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay has opened its reservations line for stays beginning on September 1. Today, our sister site VegasChatter is touring the property (which is still undergoing its transformation from the existing THEhotel) and will be answering some of our hard-pressed questions like, "What's the best room to book?" and "What makes this hotel so special from others?"

But for now, you can peep some room photos and lobby photos that the hotel released today. You can also view a video here.

The living room True to the original Delano in South Beach, there's a lot of white decor--white leather headboards and sheer white drapes--which gives us some concern in Las Vegas, a party hearty town. But this is MGM Resorts running the show, and not Morgans Hotel Group (it's more of a licensing deal) so we trust they know what they're doing.

The lobby is VERY shades of South Beach.

Right now, rates on September 1 (which are being handled through MGM Resort's reservations site) are going for just $140 a night. That's for a 725-sq.ft. king suite room with a spa-style bath, and "separate living room with its own powder room." Whoa, that's a a great deal right thur. There's also a $28 resort fee but that will include WiFi and presumably, fitness center access, daily newspaper and the all-important outgoing faxes. #not.
