Looking for a place to lay your head while 'Hanging 10' in the seaside surf town of Narragansett? Well look no further, Daddy-o, ‘cause The Break, with its retro chic surfer vibe, is set to open in June.

Part of Lark Hotels, who have boutique coastal properties throughout New England, The Break is decked out by local designer Jocelyn Chiappone, who has tapped into the late 60s, vintage surfer feel of the place. Bold modern textiles pop with color palettes of bright orange, earth tones, crisp white and shades of green and blue. Furnishings combine dark woods with wicker chairs and chandeliers, mid-century inspired armchairs and sofas, fabric headboards and ceramic tables.

Each room and suite has a king bed, fireplace, rainfall showerhead, Apple TV, iPad, iPod docking station, and most have a balcony with an ocean or sunset view. For a wee hotel of only 16 rooms and suites, the amenity list is long: There’s a rooftop lounge, heated outdoor pool, hot tub and sun deck, small spa and salon, fitness center and is just a short walk to the beach.

With Narragansett having one of the best surf breaks in New England, and the hotel being just a short walk to the beach, the hotel’s concierge can set you up with surfing and stand up paddle boarding lessons, board and kayak rentals, beach picnics and fishing excursions—all those things that just roar above the surf, “Vacation!”

Sweet 60s-inspired logo!

Rates at the end of June range from $199 for a Sunset King to $279 for an Ocean King Suite with Balcony.
