Yosemite Launches Package at Four Park Properties to Celebrate 150th Anniversary

Our bro Jaunted is pulling back the curtain on Yosemite's 150th Anniversary this week, diving into the park's history and showing off some of its natural wonders, such as a waterfall that becomes a "firefall" for two weeks during February.

The winter months have their charm in Yosemite, but that said, spring, summer, and fall are without question the times of year when you can fully enjoy the outdoors. In celebration of its birthday, Yosemite has put together a package that will run at four park hotels from April 1st to September 30th.

The package includes lodging at The Ahwahnee (shown in both photos above), Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, Curry Village, or Wawona Hotel, one copy of "Inspiring Generations: 150 Years, 150 Stories of Yosemite," a souvenir Yosemite 150th Anniversary tumbler, and tickets for the Yosemite Valley Floor Tour.

The property you choose depends on the experience you are seeking. The Ahwahnee and the Yosemite Lodge are the only two full-service hotels in Yosemite Valley. Curry Village offers tent cabins, and the Wawona Hotel is about 45 minutes outside the valley (but still within the park boundaries). The photo below shows the view of Yosemite Falls from the grounds of Yosemite Lodge.

We recommend going as early in the spring or as late in the fall as possible to avoid the biggest crowds, enjoy cooler weather, and to have the best chance at seeing the waterfalls flowing, as they tend to dry up during the mid-summer months.

Rates vary depending on the property. To inquire and book, you must call a reservation agent at (801) 559-4884.
