Miami Nice: Our Favorite Features of South Beach’s Hottest Hotels

Miami might be one of the few places where the hotels are just as hot as the visitors staying there. We wanted to get to know this hotel hotspot better, so we spent three days in Miami visiting some of South Beach’s hottest hotels, “speed dating” if you will, and found something to love about each one.

Best Hotel Staff: Loews Miami Beach Hotel
While Juan Pablo might have been a jerk to this season’s contestants of The Bachelor, we’re sure the ladies received 4-star treatment from the hotel staff at Loews on, and off, camera. The South Beach hotel was the setting for two episodes of The Bachelor this season, and it also served as the host hotel for Food Network’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

We stayed at Loews for SoBeWFF, and at every customer touch point, from valet, the doorpersons, to the front desk and housekeeping, we were greeted with a genuine smile, a happy-to-serve-you attitude and speedy service. Quite the accomplishment considering the influx of picky foodies and celebrity chefs staying at the hotel.

Favorite Pool: Ritz Carlton – South Beach
One of the perks of staying at a hotel located on South Beach’s famous Collins Avenue is the proximity to the beach. But once the allure of the sand and the crowds wear off, we’re happy to chill in a cushy lounge chair poolside. Our favorite hotel pool in South Beach belongs to The Ritz Carlton. The Ritz’s rooftop pool offers a sweet panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and all the sexy people of South Beach, without having to shake the sand off our bums afterward.

Picture Perfect: Fontainebleau Miami Beach
There are plenty of hotels that call themselves iconic, but the Fontainebleau is one that actually lives up to the hype. The hotel, which might as well have been sculpted from marble, dipped in gold and accessorized with crystal chandeliers, is just as glamorous as the clientele that stays there. When we’re looking for a place to impress our out-of-town friends, or want to #humblebrag about living it up in Miami, the Fontainebleau’s where it’s at.

The Zen Spot: Mandarin Oriental, Miami
Miami is wild and noisy and electric at every corner, but once you’ve had your fill of party people, Mandarin Oriental makes for one luxurious chill spot. The hotel is based in Miami’s financial district, Brickell, which is just far enough to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to hop in a cab and hit up the nightlife scene. Walking into the hotel is instantly calming, with its sweeping waterfront views, nature-based décor elements, and now that its MO Bar and Lounge is open, guests can take it all in with cocktails. Oh, yeah. We’re a fan.
