Mandarin Oriental Goes Bigger in Barcelona, Adds New Rooms and Suites
While we wait for its brand new hotel in Milan, Mandarin Oriental is giving us something new this spring in Barcelona: five rooms and 17 suites are being added to the converted bank on Passeig de Grącia in April by expanding into a building next door.
That takes the total number of rooms up to 120, all done up by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, so were expecting a similarly understated look in the new accommodations as in the existing suite pictured above. Rooms and suites facing Passeig de Grącia give you a view of Gaudis famous Casa Batlló across the street.
Views are also pretty stellar from the rooftop pool, with another one inside as part of the spa. Even if youre not staying at the hotel, its worth popping in to check out its atrium with catwalk and restaurant Blanc.
The new rooms and suite range from a spacious 44 square meters (473 sq ft) to 124 square meters (1335 sq ft). Current rates start around 325 ($443) during the slower winter months, going up to 445 ($607) in April / May. Various offers with breakfast or complimentary nights are available.
