Where is Your Favorite Place to Have an Andazm?

February 13, 2014 at 1:34 PM | by | ()

We've talked about our favorite and least-favorite W Hotels, the best Kimpton Hotels and the Sofitel Hotels we're most thankful for but now, on the eve of Love Day (which is what our three-year-old calls February 14), it's time to talk about our favorite place to have an Andazm.* For those not in the know, we're talking about Andaz Hotels.

Andaz has been on an expansion binge recently, opening in Amsterdam, Napa, Maui and Costa Rica. On the horizon are Andaz Tokyo, opening this summer and Andaz Mayakoba, opening in 2015.

The HotelChatter team has been in just about every Andaz out there, (except for Peninsula Papagayo which just opened in late December), and the general consensus is that Andaz Hotels are awesome. What's not to love? Personalized check-in, free wine hours, complimentary minibar snacks and free WiFi. Each Andaz also has its own distinct design, ensuring that no two Andazes are exactly alike.

Our personal fave place for an Andazm is the Andaz Fifth Avenue, specifically the Splash suites with the deep-soaking tubs. And we love the hotel's location across from the New York Public Library and that it's just two blocks to Times Square. But those are two long blocks which fortunately, makes it a little removed from the madness. The hotel also has a hot chef in the kitchen which never hurts.

We've shared our Andazm with you, so now it's your turn--where is your favorite Andaz Hotel? Sound off in comments below!

*The term Andazm was coined by the great HotelChatter alumnus JennaBrom.

Andaz WeHo

I may be a little biased... but the Andaz West Hollywood is the most near and dear to my heart :)

I never stayed the night but loved this place when I went to see it a few years ago. Great location in Xintiandi, great architecture, great rooms - it's on our list of hotels to go back to...

Shanghai or Tokyo

Is on my list for my next Andazm!

Andaz WeHo!

We stayed at Andaz WeHo last year, and absolutely loved it. Relaxed but attentive service, gorgeous decor, coffee in the am and wine hour in the pm, killer rooftop pool! We also loved the historical aspect of the riot hyatt giving a reasonably new hotel some depth.

Wall Street, by a mile

OK, it sounds a little square to even utter the name, but my favorite is the Andaz Wall Street.  Though its uptown cousin on 5th Avenue has a gorgeous setting in front of the NYPL, Wall Street's level of service is a notch or two above 5th Avenue's.  And on top of that, the room lighting is customizable and you dont have to book at Splash Suite to climb into a bathtub- they have them in every room.  Just to be clear, the staff at Andaz Wall Street are effusively helpful and accomodating but also grown up enough to recognize when you don't feel like making small talk.  I would probably move into the Andaz Wall Street if they were a little further uptown and I didn't have to compete with all the execs who fill up the place during the week.
