Even Puts Brains and Brawn Behind Their Hotel Concept

We've talked about Even Hotels and their quest to help guests live a healthy lifestyle while on the road. Besides cool in-room training areas, healthier mini-bar snacks and improved exercise options, both on-property and off, the healthy hotels have now partnered with some fitness experts.

The IHG group have called upon Athletic-Minded Traveler, a San Diego-based company that specializes in making it easy for road-warriors to get their sweat on. AMT is working closely with EVEN Hotels to incorporate innovative hotel wellness solution concepts, fitness strategies, facility designs and decor, equipment recommendations and healthy food and beverage guidance. AMT will even help Even train their staffers. (Remember, all employees at Even Hotels are expected to be knowledgeable in wellness living.)

Once the first two Even Hotels open this June, guests can expect a way better experience than the dingy basement hotel (which sadly, we've come to expect from hotels these day.) Each fitness center will be about 3-4 times bigger than traditional gyms with 2-3 times more equipment that's been chosen based on some intensive research by AMT and EVEN.

This isn't just a consultancy, this is a real partnership; Jim Kaese, CEO of Athletic-Minded Traveler, also sits on the Wellness Advisory Board for EVEN. Called The WELL, the board will continue to adapt and improve on the current trends and modern research, building the ultimate in a healthy hotel stay.

What else can we expect from these flashy new properties? Smart-phone enabled jogging maps, meeting space that converts to a group exercise studio called the Flex-room, thoughtful design, free WiFi and staff that knows what they're talking about. Now, this is one hotel chain we can really get behind.
