But the fourth floor I|O Urban Roofscape is where we're placing our bet for Chicago hotspot of the summer. Comprising indoor and outdoor space (get it? I|O?) the swank spot has has an outdoor lounge with a retractable roof—so it will stay open all year—as well as south-facing views of the city skyline, and, oh, yes, a two-level fire pit.
Chef Riley Huddleston, an Aviary alum, will oversee the kitchen at I|O. We got our hands on the menu, which has hearty offerings like Waygu steak sliders, truffle mac and cheese, and Eli's cheesecake (this is Chicago, after all.) There's also a "math-produced cocktail program" that we don't quite get yet, so let us get back to you after we've had a few sips of it.
Rates for opening weekend start at $109 a night.
