Ian Schrager Finally Confirms Not One, But Two PUBLIC Hotels for NYC

When we checked in on Ian Schrager's hotel project at 215 Chrystie Street in the LES last month, we noted that the project was rumored to be a new Public hotel. Turns out those rumors were true as Page Six is reporting that Schrager has just confirmed that it will, in fact, become New York's first Public Hotel. Even though it seemed like forever and a day that we had to wait for the announcement, it actually lines up pretty nicely with Schrager's initial expansion plan (the locations have changed though.).

But, wait, that's not all. Page Six also reports that plans are already afoot for a second Public Hotel in NYC, located on "the far West Side."

Is this Schrager's new MO? Developing his brands two by two? It was just back in November, after all, that we reported that he was bringing two Edition Hotels to New York City within a year of each other. And what does this mean for London, where an Edition just opened?

But not like we have any complaints. Like the man says: Size doesn't matter.
