5 Valentine's Day Hotel Packages We Would Actually Book

January 24, 2014 at 3:28 PM | by | ()

Yesterday we rolled our eyes at the predictable amenities hotels will be throwing into their "Romance Packages" for Valentine's Day. Today, we're cutting through schmoopie sappiness to tell you about 5 Valentine's Day Hotel Packages We Would Actually Book.

1. "In The Mood" Package at The Benjamin NYC
The Benjamin has put together a rather cool package with an amenity we've not seen offered before--The Moodsign Signal & Game Cards. Placed on the nightstand, the Moodsign has two arms that illuminate in six different colors, which couples can assign meanings. For example, a yellow arm might be mean cuddle time while a red one could mean, "I have a headache and am going to bed." Lol. The Moodsign is meant to take the guessing out of the relationship while the Moodsign Game Cards help to spice it up (role-playing, blindfolds, etc.) Also included in the package is $25 room service credit; one in-room movie; 3pm late check-out; and best of all, interruption-free accommodations (no knocks or phone calls unless a request is made. Guests will also get a $30 salon/spa credit to use on services of $100 or more at Federico Hair Salon & Spa at the hotel.
The In the Mood offer is valid Thursday through Monday nights throughout the year and starts from $264 nightly. Go here to book and mention code BNMOOD .

2. “Puppy Love” Package at CordeValle, A Rosewood Resort in San Martin, Calf.
This is a hotel package that includes not just your lover but your best friend, too. Your dog will get a special Valentine’s Day doggie turndown, including heart-shaped cookies, bones and other treats, a complimentary daytime puppy playtime at the resort's dog park, one hour of complimentary walking service, 2 gourmet doggie meals prepared by CordeValle’s culinary team and customized CordeValle dog bedding and food and water dishes. Don't worry! There's something for you too--a 60-minute couples massage at Sense spa. Yes, predictable but at least someone will walk your dog while you get the treatment.
Rates start at $599 a night and the package is good through February. To book, call 888 ROSEWOOD (888 767 3966) and reference the Puppy Love Package.

3. Kimpton’s “Take it Off for Love”
Even though the package, available at all 12 Kimpton Hotels in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, has the predictable chocolates and champagne amenities, it's also AFFORDABLE. Aside from the goodies, the package will give you 10 percent off one night, 15 percent off two nights, 20 percent off three night. Rates start as low as $125 per night for one night stays, $110 for two night stays, and $99 for three night stays. The deal is good from January 30-March 2nd.
Go here to book and use code 4LOVE.

4. Flesh for Fantasy package at The Mayfair Hotel & Spa Miami
The Coconut Grove hotel is turning 30 this year, as is the popular 80s TV show, "Miami Vice." So The Mayfair decided to make their V-Day packages 80s-themed like the Flesh for Fantasy package inspired by the Billy Idol hit. It includes a Tangerine couples massage, a couples sacred tantric touch connectedness session, a sexy yoga for couples class in-room and two nights in the Mayfair Presidential Suite with a Japanese soaking tub for two. Champagne is included on arrival. Sure, it's cheesy but it's 80-cheesy. The best kind of cheese.
Rates range from $1,150 to $1,900. Call The Mayfair's “Vice” specialists at 305 441 0000.

5. Digital Detox at Thompson Chicago
We've been known to lay in bed with our partner for an hour or more without talking--because we're too busy on our phones or tablets. Which is why we like the Thompson Chicago's Digital Detox package. Included are superior king room accommodations; (optional) check-in of all mobile devices at the concierge desk; the use of a Thompson Chicago virtual assistant to send out away messages or to contact you in case of emergency; reservations for two, side-by-side at Nico Osteria's open kitchen counter; an optional candlelit bath turndown service; valet parking, Intelligentsia coffee in the morning; and a late check-out of 4pm.
Go here to book. Rates start at $299 a night.
