Escape The Winter Doldrums at Sea Sentosa's Newest Bali Outpost
Just the mere mention of Bali evokes thoughts of a lush paradise, doting service and poolside cocktails. It's truly hard not to love everything the Indonesian island has to offer and now with Sentosa's brand-spanking-new resort, those little bits of tropical heaven are just icing on the top of a perfect vacation.
Opening by July, Sea Sentosa will blend European styling with Balinese warmth and plop it down right in the middle of one of the island's best surfing beaches, Echo Beach. Each of the one- and two-bedroom apartments will have either a lagoon swimming pool for a 'front yard' or Indian Ocean views.
Aside from killer views, the designers have outfitted each apartment with exotic details like mother of pearl trim and coconut shell wall coverings as well as a fully-equipped kitchen with all the tech comforts of home. Even the smaller garden studio rooms offer a tropical feel with private balconies and internal walled gardens to remind you that you're near the Equator.
As expected, the two-story penthouses are truly the best rooms in the house with private rooftop swimming pools and sundecks to watch iconic Bali sunsets. Uninterrupted views of the beach, crashing waves and surfers are yours to have if you plan to stay in one of twelve top-notch digs.
The entire resort is so self-contained it evens offers Grocer & Grind, its very own coffee shop and cafe along with a gym, spa, surf shop, salon, wedding chapel and gift shop for filling your luggage with souvenirs to make your friends a little jealous. In a first that we can tell, the resort even offers a medical center run by the Bali Royal Hospital; just in case a little Bali-belly rears it ugly head.
In true Balinese affordability, Garden studios start at $175 per night, one-bedroom suites go for $280 per night and two-bedroom suites starti at $375 per night. The three-bedroom penthouse is a whopping $800 per night, but can be affordable if split three ways.
