The shop is housed in the ground-floor lobby of the hotel in a newly designed space and will remain open for four months. As well as carrying specially made pieces from her own collection, Callahan, who worked with Derek Lam and Steven Alan before launching her own label, will also showcase a selected collection of small-run apparel, accessories, jewelry, handmade goods, gifts, books, magazines, apothecary, and sundries from her community of designers, artists, and friends; many available for the first time in Williamsburg.
Items include knitwear by Ryan Roche, leather bags by Building Block, footwear by Hender Scheme, jewelry by Object & Totem, and more bags by Marlow Goods, which just happens to be run by Kate Tarlow (wife of Andrew Tarlow; Reynard's owner.) Keeping it in the family!
As for her own label, Callahan says that she launched it with the intent to marry understated femininity and function, and that she makes clothes for a "creative, spirited woman who loves fashion, but doesn’t necessarily follow it."
