We've been eagerly awaiting the opening of Sydney's 1888 Hotel and we happily announce that their doors were flung open just a few weeks ago. A little late as the place was supposed to open in March.

Nevertheless, this hotel is a feast for the visual senses since the restored building marries vintage charm with edgy design and comfort. Named after the year that Kodak launched their first box and roll camera which, coincidentally, was the same year the building was built. Freaky!

With little doubt, the hotel's public spaces and rooms are an Instagrammers dream, 1888 is planning to attract even more "snap happy" guests with an Instagram contest.

If you've got 10,000 or more followers, you can score a free night stay at the unique hotel. While there are no stipulations on the number of photos required for the free night stay, photogs would be silly not to snap, hashtag and share all the coolness this property has to offer.

But we've had the chance to walk the streets of this Sydney neighborhood and take it from us, your camera roll won't only be filled with just hotel shots, since there are so many cool turn-of-the-century buildings that might look good in any one of those vintage filters.

If you're one of those lucky Instagrammers with lots of fans, head on over to their profile page for more info. And if you have a little less followers, still head over and check out the cool hotel pics!
