Flat-screen televisions in bedrooms and sitting areas get funky-art backgrounds--this is New York city seen through Polariods
The mammoth building has 54 floors and 487 rooms showcasing some choice views--the Freedom Tower, the Chrysler Building, and even the Times Square ball dropped on New Year's Eve (book now to score one of those rooms!).
The Hyatt's pride-and-joy seems to be the Sky Lounge, its rooftop bar that takes just 49 seconds to reach the top. It'll be the tallest in the city. From there you get river-to-river views and the option of cocktailing indoors or out (thanks to fireplaces).
There will also be an upscale, fun-themed diner that will serve as the restaurant, complete with Airstream trailer as part of the decor. And last, but not least, unlike many corporate city hotels, this Hyatt is going full throttle with a 4,200 square foot spa, the only hotel spa in the area. In addition to the six treatment rooms (including a couples room) there will be a Blow Out Bar, which is all the rage these days. No big hair appointments, just enough to get you ready for work or a night out on the town.
We'll be back in November to see if the soft-opening dreams came true and to give you the first-looks!
Rates for the Hyatt Times Square will begin at a whopping $566 per night in December with advance booking. Without, it's a mind-boggling $629. And no, that does't include free WiFi! Yikes! Hopefully these are just rack prices and the numbers will go down in the next few months.
