We thought Kate would go pretty cazh for her Western-style wedding, but she got dolled up in a custom-made ivory, strapless satin Oscar de la Renta dress complete with 8-foot-long, 16-ft wide train. There's even a video that describes the whole process. "I love the dress because when you see the front it feels so minimal, then when you turn around there's this dramatic fall of the fabric," Kate told Vogue Weddings. It was completed with a a cathedral length veil and diamond headpiece and matching stud earrings. Her groom went with a three-piece Brooks Brothers suit. But Kate got comfy post-ceremony and changed into a floral embellished number also made by de la Renta.
The guests were then driven from the ranch halfway up a mountain to witness the ceremony that required little decoration as the wildflowers were in full splendor. Apparently the couple chose the Ranch because of its private location and old-world charm.
A dinner with locally-sourced ingredients was served at the hotel's Granite Lodge, then the party moved to the dance floor at the Silver Dollar Saloon where there's a four-lane bowling alley, pool tables, a karaoke machine and even a shuffleboard court.
We wonder if any one tried staying in a glam-tent like this one?
All-inclusive rates at the ranch begin at $850 per night with a three-night minimum in off-season.
