Home2 Suites Opens Their Largest Hotel Yet in Philadelphia
We've been keeping a close eye on the fast expansion of Hilton's Home2Suites brand, a hip extended stay concept, but their newest hotel in Philadelphia (the 20th overall for the brand) has us crazy excited.
We first wrote about the property back in 2011. Back then, all we knew was that the hotel would have all of the Home2 Suite brand standards such as a kitchenette, free WiFi, free breakfast and an iPad docking station. Fast forward two years and the Home2 Suites is way more than that.
Located at 1200 Arch Street in Center City near the convention center, Home2 Suites has "distinctive Philadelphia and urban flair" with natural woodwork, quarried wall stone and and oversized historical Philly map in the lobby. We also love that the hotel features an energy-efficient roof, chairs made from recycled Coke bottles and tables made from recycled bowling alley lanes. All in all it has 248 guestrooms, making it the largest Home2 Suite hotel yet.
Aside from the studio and one-bedroom guestrooms (including several accessible suites for those with disabilities), the hotel features a indoor saline pool, a multimedia game room with Wii consoles and flat-screen TVs, a Home2 MKT for grab and go food items, Spin2 Cycle laundry and fitness area and the Inspired Table area where guests can grab a free continental breakfast.
The hotel is also part of a mixed-used retail space that will see the Philaldelphia debut of a BurgerFi restaurant in the fall as well as Center City's first Panera Bread. (We'll eat at the former, thanks.) And it's close to a few of the major Philly attractions--Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Pat's and Geno's cheesesteaks, however, are about a 10-minute drive away.
Rates start at $159 next week for a queen bed studio.
