Israel Will Get Its Kosher Ritz-Carlton in Herzliya At The End Of The Year
It looks like right about three years after we looked at renderings of the first Ritz-Carlton in Israel, doors will finally open to the 12-story hotel in Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv, at the end of this year. First images of the hotel remind us – if not architecturally – of its sibling in Marina del Rey, California, given its water-side setting, overlooking the various boats and yachts moored outside.
As we mentioned at the time, Studio Gaia (responsible for many a Thompson and W) is responsible for the interiors of the 115 rooms and 82 suites. Rooms mix mostly beige and sand tones, with padded leather headboards and light blond hardwood floors. There is a peek-a-boo bathroom, which we hope dearly has a properly enclosed toilet.
All rooms and suites have views of the sea and private balconies, and the hotel is steps away from the beach. Even better views are to be had from the rooftop swimming pool, which has a rooftop bar to take in the panoramas. Restaurant Herbet Samuel will be a kosher dining experience, down to the selection of Israeli and international wines. A spa and fitness center are also on site.
Reservations are not open yet, so it’s a little early to talk rates, but we’d expect US$350 and up a night.
