Opening this fall, the new property will be Viceroy Hotel Group's first Viceroy branded hotel in New York, as well as the first full hotel façade and interior design project by design firm Roman and Williams -- also responsible for the Ace Hotel New York and The Standard NYC. Expect grand public spaces featuring figured stone, Paonazzo marble, and honey-toned wood, all wrapped up in a 29-story façade of glazed black brick-and-metal windows that create the effect of a glowing lantern when lit from within.
The 240 guestrooms are designed in the style of tailored ships' cabins, with rich exotic woods, leather, a mix of metals, and rich brass finishings. Terrace and penthouse suites boast Central Park views, while all rooms will feature top-quality Sferra linens, Neil George spa products, in-room spa services, and Illy coffee machines.
Top hospitality and nightlife brand, Gerber Group led by Scott Gerber, has partnered with Chef Marc Murphy of Benchmarc Restaurants' Ditch Plains and Landmarc, to open Kingside, a street-level bar and restaurant featuring New American Cooking, handcrafted cocktails, and expansive global wine offerings. A rooftop lounge and outdoor deck with views of Central Park and the design aesthetic of a luxury airliner complete with ipe floors, brass details, and custom walnut and leather sofas will be added later in the year.
The Viceroy New York is accepting reservations for stays starting October 9th, when rates start at $599 for a 'Viceroy Superior' with king-sized bed and interior courtyard views.
