· THE BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL: After redoing their lobby scene and Polo restaurant, the Pink Palace has just unveiled their new pool cabanas and pool seating. Gone are the green and white cushion stripes which allowed us to easily identify a paparazzi shot of a celebrity. Now the A-list behinds will rest on pale pink cushions instead. But any guest looking for poolside privacy will opt for one of the cabanas which include flat-screen TVs, food and beverage and the signature banana leaf wallpaper. The Hollywood Reporter has some pretty nifty shots of the new pink spaces. Can't get to the hotel? You can still buy a pink and white striped bikini online.
· AKA BEVERLY HILLS: Nearly a year after they began renovations to transform an apartment building into their luxury brand of serviced residences, AKA has just completed their third-floor terrace lounge featuring fire pits, sweeping views of LA (including the Hollywood sign) and of course, the all-important cocktails. The space is only open to hotel guests but it is available for events. If you need to be in LA for 30 days or more, check out The AKA, just off Rodeo.
· FOUR SEASONS LOS ANGELES: While the kiddies are off at camp this summer, here's your chance to go "camping" as well--culinary camping. The luxury hotel on Doheny will host a Culinary Camp from August 2-4 as part of their Camp Beverly Hills, a series of summer weekends tailored to a specific theme and led by all star roster of camp "counselors". The Culinary Camp begins with a welcome from "Head Counselor" Executive Chef Ashley James. Later, campers will experience a customized dinner menu created by Culina Chef and Food Network’s Chef Wanted champion, Counselor Mette Williams, along with wine pairings by Wine Director, Counselor Chris Bradford. Day two will see a trip to the farmer's market followed by an organic picnic lunch and later cocktails at Culina and a private viewing of an Indian feast in the making. On Sunday, it's all about the brunch buffet. The camp does include room and board, starting at $850 a night for two people. Other "camps" include Camp Wellness and Camp Glam. For more info hit up FourSeasons.com or call reservations at (800) 332-3442.
