Don't pretend you haven't been counting down the days to the opening of Jimmy Buffett's new Margaritaville Casino in Atlantic City. From your cubicle at work, you've fantasized about biting into a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" on the boardwalk, or playing blackjack on one of the brand new Margaritaville-themed casino tables.

Well, the wait is almost over.

Just over a month since Buffett announced plans to team up with Wyndham on a new St Thomas resort, things are gearing up in Atlantic City for a grand opening on Memorial Day weekend. The new venue will sit inside the 942-room Resorts Casino, and its entrance will be marked by a sculpture of a giant blender. (Yes, you read that right.)

Meanwhile, outside, its oceanfront Landshark Bar, will be Atlantic City's first-ever year-round full-service bar and restaurant on the sand side of the Boardwalk.

And if that has you conjuring up images of lazy afternoons slurping margaritas (because, well, what other drink would you order here?) gazing out towards the Atlantic Ocean, then you've got the right idea. In addition to being right on the bustling boardwalk, Resorts Casino will provide beach chair and umbrella service on the beach next to Landshark Bar. Ie, you will never have a reason to leave. Ever.

Construction is just finishing up now on Margaritaville, and with the pressure AC's been facing ever since hurricane Sandy, the opening couldn't possibly come at a better time. Margaritaville will be the major opening for this year, after the much-hyped debut of Revel last summer.

Last year we worried that the opening of Margaritaville might dethrone Prohibition Bar upstairs. Luckily, AC's first casino gay bar remains just as gay as ever and has no plans to close.

In addition to the main Margaritaville casino, restaurant and beach bar, there will also be a 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar, a coffee shops, and a retail shop.

Rates at Resorts Casino from $61/night
