Best Western Now Open in Myanmar: While we await the arrival of the Peninsula Yangon in Myanmar, there will soon be a more affordable option in town from Best Western. BW is taking over the Green Hill Hotel in Yangon, making it the first U.S. company to have a presence in Myanmar. The hotel, which just opened six months ago, has 189 contemporary rooms and suites.

A New Hilton Rumored for Downtown LA: The hotel scene of Downtown Los Angeles keeps heating up. Area expert Brigham Yen recently reported that Hilton Hotels is rumored to be buying a parking lot near the Staples Center with the hopes of turning it into a new hotel. There's already a DoubleTree downtown and a regular Hilton but we hope they do something exciting here. Maybe another outpost of theWit Hotel?
