Construction was in the early stages when we passed through Schiphol recently, with guests at the current Hilton getting a prime view of the work going on right next door. The hotel will remain open until its reincarnation is complete, after which it will be torn down. The cube-shaped building will have a façade criss-crossed by diagonal lines, resulting in multiple diamond-shaped windows in external-facing rooms.
A preview tour of the new building is available here, with 360-degree views of the lobby and both inner and outer bay rooms. Like most Hiltons, there will be an Executive Lounge, as well as meeting space, restaurant and bar, spa and fitness center, and underground parking.
A Queen Hilton Room at the existing hotel starts at €139 ($180) on a Friday night early June.
