According to the Rockwell Group, the guest rooms and public spaces are intended to be "open and airy" to complement "the lush surroundings of Mokapu Beach." This suits us just fine, since as far as we're concerned, any vacation to Hawaii ought to involve plenty of lounging around and laying on the beach.
Italian limestone, oak, teak and walnut will all be used to create a "modern interpretation of traditional Hawaiian design," which, as you can see from the photos, has a sort of oceanic feel.
From the canopied entrance to the oceanfront views, this hotel just screams relaxation, luxury, and high-design. We kind of already feel like we're on vacation just by looking at the photos.
Aside from the rooms, the hotel will offer a Hawaiian apothecary-inspired spa, 3 infinity pools, 2 outdoor bars (the Tiki Bar and the Waterfall Bar) and loads of artwork by Hawaiian artists.
If you're too antsy too wait until this summer, head over to the hotel's website to take a further look and start comparing rates. Interestingly, the website is only taking reservations after September 15, though a representative for the hotel confirmed it will indeed be opening
this July later this summer.
Rates from $509/night.
