The class follows a traditional format, with a regular set of Vinyasa poses and some time for simple breathing and meditation. And while you may have done that in plenty of other yoga classes before, sitting atop a 17-floor hotel in Lower Manhattan gazing out over the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge certainly adds a little something to the experience.
Though the hotel initially considered making the class co-ed, in the end, instructor Brigitte and founder Millana Snow decided that they wanted to accomplish two goals: offer yoga in a dramatic rooftop setting, and also offer a safe space for women to come and practice on their own. In her words, she explained the class "really pumps up your estrogen levels, in a good way."
If you think an all-female yoga class is right up your alley, enquire at the Front Desk next time your in town, as the class is open to guests and non-guests in the know. So ladies, consider yourselves in the know.
