Last night we went to the Sofitel New York in order to take a look-see at their newest photography exhibit, "Elles by Gilles Bensimon". This collection, which has never been seen in the US features 25 larger-than-life images of famous faces such as Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Charlize Theron, Carla Bruni, and even Zooey Deschanel.
Bensimon is the former International Creative Director of ELLE and he appeared at the event last night and mingled with the crowd. Even giving us a kiss on the hand as only the French can do! (woo!).
At one point in the evening we'd heard rumblings that someone named Kelly Bensimon would be showing up and that seemed to cause a whole bunch of whispering. We couldn't remember--who was Kelly? Then we saw her. OH! Her. The woman who had a brief stint on "The Real Housewives of New York" and Gilles ex-wife (they were married for 10 years). Now, we won't lie, the lady is a glamazon and we were crushing a bit. She came with her and Gilles children and was kind enough to take photos (even family ones!) for the crowd. If there is discord between her and Gilles, we didn't catch on.
Bensimon captures the essence of Alicia Keys
The Bensimon exhibition will be open to the public in the Sofitel New York's hotel’s lobby through April, before traveling on to Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square, Sofitel Chicago Water Tower, and Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.
