The island, Sacca Sessola, was man-made in 1860 and covers 40 acres. It's become a bit of a tourist hub, with hotels scattered about, and has an especially mild climate, so we’ve been told that the hotel will nestle amongst expansive private gardens and olive groves. Think about that while you’re still waiting for spring to finally get its butt in gear!
JW Marriott currently has five hotels in Europe: in London, Bucharest, Cannes and Ankara with the fifth joining just last year in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has 59 properties in 23 countries and is expecting to have 79 hotels in 28 countries by 2015, proving that growth in the hotel world is back on. Amen!
No word yet on opening rates, but we’ll keep you posted.
