Last August, developers broke ground on the new property, which sits right on Pompano Beach, equidistant between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm. When it opens, the hotel will feature 219 rooms with private balconies overlooking the Atlantic, a rooftop terrace, private beach, multiple pools, and an indoor/outdoor seafood restaurant called McCoy's Oceanfront.
During a press event over the summer, Pompano Beach's mayor called the hotel "the game changer the city was waiting for," which is awfully generous, but then again, who knows? "Game changer" isn't exactly the term we'd use to describe Marriott, but in this instance, the hotel already has plenty going for it, simply by being the first new property to be built since 2002.
As with other hotels in the area, the main attractions here will be the oceanfront views, as well as the abundant casinos, shopping malls and golf courses, all located a few miles from the hotel. Best of all, the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Int'l Airport will only be a 25 minute drive away.
Rates from $149/night.
