Forget Portland: Become a Spin Master at Maldives DJ Camp

We asked you this week to dish on your noisy hotel experiences, and boy, you had stories to tell about, among other things, loud music and drunk people.

On that note, let us be the first to invite you to the DJ party at the NIYAMA Maldives from April 11th to the 19th during the DJ Dispensary Retreat. We know what you're thinking... DJs? Dispensaries? Where are we? Portlandia?

Well, forget Oregon--it's time to learn how to spin while kicking it beside the Indian Ocean. You can take either a three ($850) or seven ($2,000) day disc jockey course (lodging included), both of which include group and one-on-one lessons on music progression as well as familiarization sessions with the DJ equipment. The seven-day trip culminates with your first solo set in either Subsix, an underwater club, or Fahrenheit, the resort's rooftop bar, which will be recorded and given to you along with a course handbook, X-Mini speakers, headphones, and a few other goodies.

Seriously, can you imagine your first gig being at an underwater club? Even if you don't become the next big thang (which we're sure you will), you still get quite the experience. And you better, because the Maldives are not easy to get to. It'll cost you just under $2,000 roundtrip from NYC and $1,350 from Los Angeles to get to the islands.
