Shooting and Death Outside French Montana's Philly Hotel
A man is dead, and one hurt after a shooter opened fire on rapper French Montanaís tour bus outside of the Holiday Inn Express on Penn's Landing late last night. We hope this isnít the hotel HC just wrote about that recently opened. If so the property certainly isnít off to a good start!
French, the man behind the popular club and radio banger ďPop ThatĒ had just finished a show at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia and was not hurt.
According to NBC Philadelphia News, when the artistsí tour bus arrived around midnight on Christopher Columbus Boulevard near the Holiday Inn Express where he and his group had rooms reserved, a crowd formed outside the bus. A car then pulled up and opened fire on the crowd, hitting a 27-year-old man in the abdomen and a 29-year-old man in the shoulder, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small.
It isnít clear whether the rapper or his entourage were targets of the shooting, but all are cooperating with the police, though investigators say someone inside the bus returned fire after the initial shots came at the bus.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m. The other man arrived at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was listed in stable condition, according to police.
French is touring to promote his upcoming debut album, "Excuse My French," which features Nicki Minaj. Unfortunately this isnít his first brush with drama. Last month in Las Vegas, three people were killed and five injured in a shoot-out at the Aria Hotel, where the rapper was playing at the hotelís nightclub, Haze.
