The Alpina Gstaad is set on five acres and is bordered by an acre-and-a-half of gardens. There are three restaurants onsite including the first European outpost (not counting Eurasian Moscow, of course) of MEGU, serving modern Japanese cuisine; a traditional Swiss stübli (hello, fondue!), and the Restaurant Sommet, offering gourmet goodies.
If a cocktail is more in order you can try out the Havana-inspired Cigar Lounge, the Wine Cellar or the Alpina Lounge & Bar. A large spa –- Six Senses -- features a hammam, a fitness center and an 82-foot lap pool. The hotel also has an outdoor pool to cool your heels and, for those of you who need it, there’s a private cinema.
Rates at The Alpina Gstaad start at CHF 650 ($705) for the Bed & Breakfast rate in a 330 sq ft Deluxe Double but the CHF 850 ($921) Daily Rate gives you breakfast, a CHF 100 ($108) credit per day for any of the restaurants, lounges or room service, WiFi, entrance into the Six Senses Spa, and parking or shuttle service to and from the Gstaad train station.
But enough talk; it’s time for pics.
