'The Bachelor' Takes His Six Soulmates to the Buccaneer Resort in St. Croix
For reasons we can't fully explain, we've decided to tune into the completely staged reality dating show that is "The Bachelor" on ABC. And we're obsessed. From the first rose ceremony shenanigans to the tense two-on-one dates and awkward make-out sessions, we love it all. We'll even watch it live, with commercials. But the show also has another important element we love--hotels. The Bachelor, Sean, is taking his hot body and so-so personality around the world as he tries to find a wife. Each Tuesday, we'll be recapping the hotels Sean and the ladies stay at and the drama that ensues. We'll do our best not to make it all about Tierra.
After last week's four-hour, two-day "The Bachelor" viewing extravaganza, which took place at the Fairmont Lake Louise in Banff, Canada, we were so relieved to hear that Sean has finally decided that the six remaining ladies were the "six for him." But lest this turn into a show about sister wives,
the producers Sean has decided to whisk the girls off to the island of St. Croix to further determine who is the one he is going to spend the rest of his life with. Or at least the next few months trying to score trashy tabloid covers.
After arriving on the island by seaplane, Sean takes his harem to The Buccaneer Resort, a beachfront pink palace that is one of the island's longest-running resorts.
Since a lot of the scenes were shot in the hotel rooms, we're pretty sure the girls we're shacked up in the Ficus and the Frigate suites. Those specialty rooms, which are way more modern than the basic room categories, start at around $1,100 a night. But even if you don't stay in these rooms, you can still live it up "Bachelor"-style during your trip as the resort has put together their own "Bachelor" package.
The five-night deal includes a private picnic on the resort's secluded Whistle Beach, a romantic dinner and kiss on the dock (Tierra's date and we presume you already have a person to kiss), a private half-day trip to the Buck Island reefs (the date with Ashlee) and beach; a private island tour and a full-day car rental (the group date with Des, Catherine and Lindsay.) It also features a chilled bottle of champagne and the Bachelor's signature red rose upon arrival, an in-room couple’s massage, and his and her bathrobes and matching infinity bracelets made famous by St. Croix’s IB Designs.
Just remember that Tierra has one of these bracelets too.
The package costs $7,250 thru April 15th and $5,900 thru December 19th, per couple. Regular room rates right now start at $399 a night for a garden patio room. That includes free breakfast daily, wireless internet, welcome cocktails, entertainment, water sports and even introduction to scuba lessons.
If you're considering this "Bachelor" getaway, then before you throw down your credit card, you should first enter the Stash Rewards Caribbean Giveaway which is gifting one lucky winner with a 7-night stay at the Buccaneer. Cross your fingers!
Something you should also know is that the Buccaneer Resort is participating in the island's Fantastic Flight Promotion which gives a $300 airfare credit on packages of six nights including the last night free, and a $20 Match Play Casino certificate. This promotion is running through May 31, 2013, way longer than the "love" between Sean and his six soulmates.
Hold up! The Buccaneer isn't just for lovers and extreme "Bachelor" fans. Stay tuned for our 2013 Caribbean Hotel Guide later this week to see what we mean!
