File This Under 'Awesome': Going by Boat from The Airport to The Rad Blu St Martin

The calendar just flipped to December, which means it is officially the Caribbean season as much as it is the Christmas season. We know many of you are planning jaunts to greener waters, and you might be interested to know that if you choose the Radisson Blu St. Martin, you can get picked up from the airport in a boat.

The hotel's water shuttle service scoops you up at Princess Juliana International Airport and takes you on a 30-minute ride to the resort's full-service marina, which is right on property and a short walk from the lobby. The shuttle travels up the west side of the island past Simpson Bay and Grand Case.

We think this is an awesome touch for an island hotel, benefical for all in that it is an experience that guests will remember indefinitely - that time they took a boat from the airport to the hotel. We'd say that we'd like to see other hotels offer this service so more people could have a chance to experience it, but we suppose it really isn't that simple of an operation, as not many properties have on-site marinas with easy access.

The Radisson Blu is located in Anse Marcel on the French side of the island, tucked down in a valley that runs to the ocean. Rates for the water shuttle are $156 roundtrip for adults.
