The hotel will have 150 hotel rooms and 125 luxury condominiums. Also on-site will be a full spa, fitness center, an 85' indoor pool and ballroom/meeting facilities. sbe’s (SLS's parent company) is expected to put some of their well-known F&B concepts in as well including The Bazaar by José Andrés, Katsuya by Starck and Hyde Lounge. Handling the architecture and design is Kohn Pedersen Fox Associated who will put 10 foot ceilings, walls of windows and full balconies in every residence (and we hope hotel room too.) The hotel should be completed by 2016.
This is just the latest in a series of big announcements forms sbe and SLS. Most recently, the company announced an entirely new hotel brand Hyde Hotels and Resorts, opening first in Miami. Next up is the SLS New York, Las Vegas and Seattle. It's looking rather likely that Nazarian might just be the first-ever back-to-back winner of HotelChatter's Hotelier of the Year award.
