Andaz Opens Virtual Pop-Up Shop for a Good Cause

Since 2011, Andaz Hotels has worked with Women for Women International (WfWI) to provide women in war-torn countries with economic opportunities and be positive catalysts for change. Through these efforts, the Andaz Holiday Bazaar was born.

The Andaz Holiday Bazaar is a virtual pop-up shop offering locally inspired, unique gifts with proceeds donated to WfWI. The hotel brand collaborated with its Cultural Insiders from around the globe to curate the bespoke online Holiday Bazaar available through e-retailer, Joyus.

With everything from custom created home décor to one-of-a-kind artwork and artisanal food, here are a couple of our favorites:

American Apothecary’s t-shirt art: American Apothecary is a lifestyle t-shirt brand dedicated to individuals who are individuals not because it's cool to be so, but because they don't know any other way to be. Using fashion to promote social awareness, here they've stretched printed t-shirt fabrics on canvas featuring medicines widely prescribed in the 1900s. Each piece is either $40 or $50 based on size.

Set of poodle rocks glasses: Jason Laurits is a NYC-based designer and the founder of Paste. His approach to Paste has long been influenced by the trial and error that comes with silk-screening. For the Andaz Holiday Bazaar, he has sets of either white or black poodle-adorned tumblers. We particularly like the black which kinda reminds us of Che Guevara, are we right? A set of six is $75.

There’s plenty of good stuff so have a peek, and while there's nothing wrong with ordering a gift for yourself--especially for a good cause--note that if you want a loved one to be the recipient you’ll need to order today—December 18—to put it under the tree for December 25!
