Kimpton To Don Overalls and Doc Martens in Seattle Again
Kimpton Hotels can be found all over the West Coast, especially in San Francisco where the company originated, but right now, they are ramping up their Pacific Northwest properties.
The friendly boutique chain has just announced plans to open a 97-room hotel in Seattle by late 2014. It will be their fourth hotel for the city. Here are the juicy hotel detes:
An adaptive reuse of the landmark Palladian Building, originally built in 1910 as the Calhoun Hotel, this new project will embody the gritty elegance of the city showcased in 97 rooms, 1,100 square feet of swank meeting and event space, a trend setting restaurant and a lounge with an edgy urban vibe.
Slated for a late 2014 opening, the historic building is located in the trendy West Edge neighborhood in downtown Seattle, just steps away from Pike Place Market and the famed Seattle waterfront as well as many favorite Seattle attractions. Designer Nicole Hollis will oversee the project.
And just to be clear, Kimpton does not own the property but rather they were selected for the management contract by local development company Shemiran Trade.
Meanwhile, Kimpton has even more properties lined up across America including Austin, Grand Cayman, Milwaukee, Palm Springs, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, Savannah, and Sedona. What's next, London? (We hope!)
