InterContinental Hotels Group have just announced they are continuing their expansion into downtown Brooklyn, with the development of a new Holiday Inn at Nevins Street Station, just a few minutes walk from the recently (officially) open, Hotel Indigo Brooklyn, and close to the Barclay's Center and Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The hotel, owned by K.K. Mehta and his son Sanjeev Mehta, broke ground last week and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2014, with an anticipated opening in early 2015.The hotel will have 246 rooms spread over 15 floors with more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space, and (in keeping with the brand's relaunch) what the company describes as "an emphasis on arrival and welcome services, guestroom and guest bath comfort, and a redesigned logo and signage.

Given the brand and location, let's hope they keep prices reasonable; we don't want a repeat of the LES Holiday Inn's $300+ room rate.

What about the other Holiday Inn a few blocks away

I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that this is just a few blocks away from the other Holiday Inn going up on Schermerhorn Street at Nevins Street. Or is this one in the same? If it is the same then you are way behind in your reporting. They're beyond the foundation stage and have started going vertical. http://www.brownstoner.com/blog/2012/10/two-hotels-both-by-kaufman-slated-for-schermerhorn/
