Fill Your Belly In Honor Of New Shangri-La Qufu

This week couldn't end without discussing a new Shangri-La hotel, could it? Of course not!

So, besides gushing about the �ber-plush and attentive service the hotel chain will bring to their newest property debuting in March in Qufu, East-central China, we'll detail their elaborate and unique opening celebration.

The 502-room behemoth will be the first international hotel chain for the city that's better known as Confucius' hometown. While the folks at Shangri-La will be wowing guests with luxury amenities and comfy guestrooms, we like the the events surrounding the ribbon cutting because it involves beautiful food, and, in this case, a food roadshow!

The culinary taste of this Chinese region features the Kong Family, descendants of Confucius himself, and style of cuisine. Unique in style, the menu will feature creative presentations of skillfully combined ingredients that express the four most important elements in the art of Chinese cooking: color, aroma, flavor and texture. Qufu cuisine is traditionally served for elaborate banquets, royal commemorations and religious ceremonies and a new hotel opening fits the bill.

The foodie roadshow will be touring six of the brand's properties over the next three months in the lead up to the opening of the hotel in Qufu. If you're lucky enough to be staying at these hotels, make sure you reserve a table when you check-in:
